The Happy Couple…
I first met Cheryl and Jonathan at a wedding fair at their wedding venue – Norton Park Hotel in Winchester, and was so thrilled when they chose me to photograph and film their wedding there. They chose to have one of my video fusion films, which includes a second photographer for more photography coverage, and captures little moving images throughout the day to help tell the story and capture the moment.
I absolutely loved the story of how they met – they have known each other for many years as they went to Uni together, but alas timing wasn’t right, and they both went their separate ways… Cheryl got married and had 3 boys, but when she got divorced and moved back to Winchester, they met up again in a pub down the road from where they live, and the flame was rekindled! It was as if Jonathan had been waiting all these years for the right time to find her again. They now have another little boy to make four in total, and they are such a lovely couple with such a beautiful love story.
Cheryl – “Jon proposed to me on a beach in Studland, Dorset. It was very romantic as we were on the beach in the wind and hail and a rainbow emerged as he got down on one knee – you couldn’t write this stuff!”
Cheryl and Jonathon’s day was truly magical with their first class entertainment of Alan Van Dome the magician.
I loved doing their wedding photography at Norton Park. It seemed for the whole of this wedding all the guests were thoroughly enjoying themselves from start to finish, especially with baby Thomas in his adorable suit! It was so relaxed and had an English Garden party wedding theme with Pimms served in the beautiful Gardens.
The Venue… Norton Park Hotel, Winchester
A great perk of being a Winchester wedding photographer is Norton Park. It’s a great wedding venue because it has an eclectic mix of contemporary chic and historical elegance with a beautiful classic Manor House. This was refurbished from a 17th century Tythe Barn and has a gorgeous 54 acres of private grounds providing the perfect backdrop for their special day.
The service was completely dedicated to Cheryl and Jonathan, from planning floral arrangements right the way through to guest entertainment. Being a Winchester wedding photographer, I have got to know Norton Park’s friendly and professional Wedding Co-ordinators, and they were always on hand to help create the perfect wedding that Cheryl and Jonathan had hoped for.
Another great thing about Norton Park is that the guests at the wedding could also make use of a fantastic range of facilities including contemporary bedrooms, a generously-sized health club, an on-site spa and restaurant.
Wedding theme… Traditional and Classic
The bouquets and tables were decorated with Spring wildflowers along with White and Pink Roses.
Cheryl’s dress was so incredible with a real authentic vintage style which suited Cheryl perfectly, embellished perfectly with pearls and traditional beading. Check at the bottom of this blog for the supplier details 🙂
Highlight of the day
There was a beautiful operatic performance from one of Cheryl’s friends during the ceremony. Also there was some entertaining magic at the dinner tables from Alan Van Dome, the Magician! All the guests were in shock and left wondering how on earth he did it all!
And the weather was great considering it was May!
